Li Yuanping visits Australia, Tonga and New Zealand

    To strengthen the cooperation with Australia, Tonga and New Zealand in the area of inspection and quarantine, carry out the consensuses between the leaders, at the invitation of Secretary of Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, Tongan Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, Food & Fisheries, and Deputy Director-General of New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries, AQSIQ Vice Minister Li Yuanping paid successful visits to the three countries from November 8 to 17. Li co-chaired with Daryl Quinlivan, the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources the 6th meeting of the China-Australia SPS cooperation mechanism, conducted bilateral discussions with Hon. Semisi Tauelangi Fakahau, Tongan Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, Food & Fisheries, and co-chaired with Deborah Roche, Deputy Director-General of New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries the 8th meeting of the China-New Zealand FTA-SPS joint committee. The delegation also visited post-border quarantine facilities in Australia, pumpkin packing factory and seaweed processing factory in Tonga, and wine chateau and cheese processing factory in New Zealand.
