On May 17, 2017, under the witness of President Xi Jinping and Argentine President Mauricio Macri, AQSIQ Minister Zhi Shuping signed with the Minister of Agroindustry of Argentina Buryaile the protocol on phytosanitary requirements on table grape to be exported from Argentina to China, and the 2017-2019 working arrangement between AQSIQ and Argentine Ministry of Agroindustry.
China and Argentina are both developing countries and are mutually important trade partners. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, bilateral relations have been developing smoothly, and mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas has been continuously strengthened. The two countries are complementary and have broad cooperation prospect in agricultural products and food trade, and the development of cooperation in the area of inspection and quarantine has been deepening. The two documents signed this time are of great importance in safeguarding the quality and safety of mutually provided agricultural products and food, and in promoting healthy development of bilateral economic relations.
