Bureau of Import and Export Food Safety takes the responsibility of studying and formulating the provisions and regulations of quality supervision, inspection and quarantine on the safety of import and export food and cosmetics as well as list of import and export food and cosmetics under inspection and quarantine, organizing the implementation of the inspection, quarantine, supervision and administration over imported and exported food and cosmetics, collecting information of food safety, hygiene and quality out of China and organizing the implementation of risk assessment and evaluation over import and export food safety and the implementation of emergency preventive measures, administering the investigation and punishment of major accidents of import and export food safety and quality, and the disposal of food-borne pollution sources.
